STOP! Don't Remove Your Heat Pump Just Yet: The Solution to Inefficient Heating Systems
Heat pumps are becoming a popular choice for homeowners looking for an energy-efficient heating solution. However, many people find that their heat pump isn't providing the desired warmth, or that it's too expensive to run. In most cases, it's not the heat pump that's to blame but the system design.
The design of a heating system plays a critical role in its performance and energy efficiency. Sadly, this aspect is often overlooked during the installation process, and homeowners are left with a poorly designed system that doesn't heat their home effectively and consumes more energy than necessary.
Fortunately, all is not lost. With some adjustments to the pipework and, in some cases, the replacement of some radiators, your heating system can be made efficient. This work can often be done for less than the cost of removing the heat pump and replacing it with a traditional boiler.
In addition, sometimes the reason the heating is costing so much is that the wrong "weather curve" has been selected. The weather curve is a term used to describe the outdoor temperature at which the heat pump can no longer meet the heating demand. Ensuring the heat pump is set up correctly and operating at maximum efficiency can save homeowners significant amounts of money on energy bills.
