Overview

Heat Pump Installation That Fits Your Home

An air source heat pump takes heat from the outside air and transfers it into your home through a suitably designed heating system. It works differently from a conventional gas boiler.

A successful installation depends on more than choosing an outdoor unit. Heat loss, emitters, hot water demand, controls and how the system is commissioned all matter.

We look at the property and existing heating arrangement before recommending a system. Some homes can retain much of their existing equipment, while others need changes. Eligible homeowners may be able to reduce the upfront cost of a heat pump installation through government grant support.

The aim is a heating system that is appropriate for the building, understandable to operate and supported after installation, not simply an equipment swap.

Government Funding

Air Source Heat Pump Grants

The government's Boiler Upgrade Scheme helps eligible homeowners reduce the upfront cost of installing an air source heat pump. Depending on your property and existing heating system, you could qualify for one of the following grants.

How Does the Grant Work?

The grant is deducted from the installation cost, rather than paid directly to the homeowner. As an MCS-accredited installer, Delta Flow can guide you through the eligibility requirements and grant application process.

£7,500 Standard Grant

Available towards eligible air-to-water heat pump installations, including homes replacing traditional gas heating.

£9,000 Enhanced Grant

Available for qualifying properties without a mains gas connection that are replacing oil or LPG heating. This enhanced grant is currently available until 31 March 2027.

What To Avoid

Mistakes We Help You Avoid

The best results come from understanding the system and the work involved, not making assumptions or cutting important corners.

Choosing By Unit Size Alone

Heat loss and the existing heating system must be considered rather than simply matching a boiler rating.

Ignoring Radiator Suitability

Emitter performance and operating temperatures can affect comfort and system efficiency.

Overlooking Hot Water Needs

The hot water arrangement must suit the household, available space and chosen system.

Skipping Proper Handover

Understanding settings and controls helps customers use their new heating system confidently.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Will a heat pump work in my home?

Many homes can be suitable, but the answer depends on heat demand, available space and the existing heating system. We assess these before making recommendations.

How much does a heat pump cost?

How long does installation take?

A typical heat pump installation takes around two to five days, although larger or more complex projects may take longer.

Will I need new radiators?

Not necessarily. We assess existing radiators and heat requirements before deciding whether any changes are appropriate.

Do heat pumps provide hot water?

Yes, suitably designed systems can serve domestic hot water as well as space heating, using the correct components and controls.

Do you help with government grants?

We can explain the relevant quotation and grant pathway for your circumstances. Eligibility and scheme rules need to be checked at the time.

Can you service my heat pump afterwards?

Yes. We have a dedicated Heat Pump Servicing page, and ongoing support is part of our approach.
